LAND3 worked directly for the Grandview C-4 School District on the design of a “Grandview Standard Playground” that could be used throughout all their elementary schools. The initial concept aimed to create a all-inclusive playground that also offered outdoor learning spaces. After the concept phase and selection of a preferred playground, LAND3 developed construction drawings for the first playground located at Butcher-Greene Elementary. LAND3 brought on civil engineering (CFS) to assist in grading, stormwater and pavement details. LAND3 worked closely with several playground manufacturers to engineer the various play features. The central feature of the playground are a series of organic precast features that double as play features and seating in the learning area.
